Being and staying yourself is perhaps the greatest favour you can do for yourself while you are still on earth. To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you someone else, but staying true to yourself means you’ll have to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting.
Many live a life not meant for them, a life not suited to them, trying to be who they are not, in doing this they fail to fulfil their potential.
If you look around the world today, millions are faking their lives and its a major problem in the world right now: many try to live their lives like celebrities but they always forget that those celebrities are popular today not because they live someone else’s life but because they live their own lives which is why they are able to reach their full potential.
We are so accustomed to disguise ourselves to others that in the end we become disguised to ourselves, If God wanted you otherwise he would have created you otherwise.
The great majority of us are required to live a life of constant duplicity, your health is bound to be affected if, day after day, you say the opposite of what you feel, if you grovel before what you dislike, and rejoice at what brings you nothing but misfortune.
It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are, almost every man wastes part of his life in attempts to display qualities which he does not possess, and to gain applause which he cannot keep but the happiest people are those that learn to be what they are, and learn to resign with a good grace all that they are not.
Let the world know you as you are, not as you think you should be, because sooner or later, if you are posing, you will forget the pose, and then where are you, every time you don’t follow your inner guidance, you feel a loss of energy, loss of power, a sense of spiritual deadness.
At bottom every man knows well enough that he is a unique being, only once on this earth; and by no extraordinary chance will such a marvellously picturesque piece of diversity in unity as he is, ever be put together a second time.
The strongest force in the universe is a human being living consistently with his identity, almost all absurdity of conduct arises from the imitation of those whom we cannot resemble.
Best be yourself, imperial, plain and true, like the sky opens after a rainy day we must open to ourselves, learn to love yourself for who you are and open so the world can see you shine.
Be what you are. This is the first step toward becoming better than you are because in the end what will make you stand out from the crowd is being yourself and not an adulterated version of someone else.
Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.
He who trims himself to suit everyone will soon whittle himself away.
Always be a first-rated version of yourself, instead of a second-rated version of somebody else.
