Nigerians: APC with Caution

Blind loyalty and selective amnesia are two big problems militating against the progress of Nigeria, we accept people without questioning them and when we are forced to question we tend to (deliberately) forget the important questions about their pasts because we like and want them in a position.

There is a popular saying that “the devil you know is better than an unknown angel” this statement remained true until PDP spent 14years in power without really changing our lives or Nigeria. So its safer to say now that the unknown angel is what we really want in Nigeria, we want an escape route from the grasp of PDP and their devilish ways of administration, since the party came into power in 1999, there has not really been many changes we can point to or any policy aimed at bettering the lives of ordinary Nigerians, rather they create selfish policies to enrich themselves at the expense of ordinary Nigerians.

Many Nigerians hate the PDP with a strong passion, we want the party out by all means in 2015, the APC is the party some of us are routing for but we must be careful and “APC with caution”

Like I wrote earlier that right now we are ready to accept the unknown angels, unfortunately APC is neither unknown nor are they angels, we can refer to them as the lesser devil, not as big as the PDP but not really different because we are yet to test them with federal treasury but we know what those of them that have been tested with state treasury did and how they became more than a thousand times wealthier than they were before assuming power.

The APC is made up of politicians who have been in power before either at state or federal level, each and everyone of them with pasts not better than that of PDP members, Nigerians should not allow our hatred for the PDP blind us from the obvious, yes ACN/APC governors are trying but in a normal society and with the money they get, if we are sincere and not limit ourselves to the mentality of expecting little or nothing from elected officers, AD/AC/ACN/CPC/APC and PDP since 1999 have all performed below expectation, neither care for the poor and given the opportunity they’ve all looted, none is corruption free and have been in many controversies.

We want an end to PDP, APC seems to be the only solution presently but we can’t just accept APC because we hate PDP, we must ask them questions; how does the APC seek to be different from what we are used to? Are they only using us to get to power or it wants ordinary Nigerians in its fold? they must convince us why they deserve our votes, we need to be assured that they want to serve us not rule over us like monarchs, we need to have their words that we won’t be imposed on like it is done in Lagos, APC need to show us how they hope to fix Nigeria, they must realize that they can only change Nigeria if and only if they act differently and bring fresh ideas.

The APC can boast of having governors who are working hard to fix their different states but can they say the same about their Senators and Reps? How will the party deal with human rights / constitutional rights infringement that is gradually becoming the order in Nigeria and why none of the serving APC Senators or Reps never thought of sponsoring a bill to cut the jumbo salaries and bonuses they receive and spend the money on infrastructures.

Ousting the PDP is not enough, we can’t afford to replace bad with worse, we must “APC with caution”, we can’t afford to suffer the same fate we suffered with GEJ, APC must give us the details of how they will curb all the excesses of PDP, we don’t want then to tell us what we want to hear, we won’t fall for that again, they should tell us in details how they will turn around the fortunes of the ailing nation.

God Bless Nigeria

Stella Damasus, ChildnotBride and The Saints

I find it difficult to believe that instead of commenting on her ranting Nigerians chose to judge her personal affairs.

Though I did not bother to watch her youtube video about the child marriage issue because most of our celebrities just like most Nigerians don’t really understand the issue, there was no bill, the senate only deliberated on a section of the constitution but because everybody is talking and sharing their opinions about it, they as celebrities don’t want to be seen as nonchallant, but as celebrities and with the attentions they get I believe they should have read or ask questions about the issues before talking about it but most of them never bothered to understand the issue before ranting about it.

Those that watched her attention seeking video said she “spat fire” but the responses that followed the video is what I really don’t agree with, Stella Damasus is human just like us all and she surely need a man for those cold nights, I am not writing to defend her, but the abuses and judgements about her private affairs are uncalled for, I really don’t think we should judge public figures by their private lives (except public office holders), the husband snatching allegations around her is still a rumour, and even if it is confirmed, Daniel is neither a baby, a purse nor is he a mobile phone that can be snatched, I think if we want to blame anybody it should be Daniel and Doris for allowing their marriage to fall apart, especially Daniel for not giving his marriage another shot before moving on to Stella.

We are a very “religious” nation, whatever happened to our popular saying “thou shall not judge”, Stella Damasus shared her opinion as a girl and a mother, she has passed through the pains of marriage and childbirth, her rant and show of anger is very understandable, she doesn’t want girls that are not ripe enough for such pains to pass through it, we don’t have to shoot the messenger for her life and “misdeeds” if any, am sure most of those abusing her have done worse than her, let he/she who is blameless cast the first stone, but if you have your own short comings too, leave Stella and Daniel alone.

The Dos and Donts of Life

True, Life is full of ups and downs, but the ups and downs are what shape our present and mould our future but to have a good life with less pressure and problems there are some things we should do and some other things we shouldn’t engage in.

Don’t date because you are desperate.
Don’t marry because you feel you are getting old.
Don’t have kids because you think your genes are
superior.
Don’t philanderer because you think you are
Good in bed.
Don’t associate with people you don’t trust.
Don’t lie it has too many negative offsprings
Don’t pretend (Never say Yes when No best suit You)
Don’t dictate because you are smarter.
Don’t demand because you are stronger.
Don’t sleep around because you think you are old
enough and know better.
Don’t carry the past with you bury it, Time can’t
bring anything or anyone back.
Don’t keep a space in your heart for anyone.
Don’t be greedy
Don’t be covetous
Don’t bring another life into this world for all the
wrong reasons.
Don’t abandon your responsibilities but don’t
overdose on duty.
Don’t live life recklessly without thought and feeling for your family.
Don’t commit when you are not ready.
Don’t keep others waiting needlessly.
Don’t kill for anything
Never stop learning

Always fight for what you love
Find a new friend.
Start a new career.
Sometimes, there is no race to be won.
Only a price to be paid for some of life’s more hasty decisions.
To terminate your loneliness, visit recreational
centres.
To feed your nurturing instincts, care for the needy.
To make yourself happy, pursue your passions and
be the best of what you can be.
Simplify your life.
Get rid of destructive elements
Limit your friends to only those that believe in you
Get rid of abusive friends
Get rid of nasty habits, and dangerous liaisons.
Be true to yourself.
Say those words, Don’t let the moment pass.
Do what you have to
When you feel bad, write poetry.
Love Deeply.
Cry once in a while, it softens your heart, cleanse your retina and make you think deeply.
Take care of yourself.
Don’t wait for someone to take care of you.
You light up your life.
You drive yourself to your destination.
No one completes you – except YOU.
It is true that life does not get easier with age. It
only gets more challenging.
Don’t be afraid. Don’t lose your capacity to love.
Pursue your passions.
Live your dreams.
Don’t lose faith in your God.

Dying To Live : Living To Die

Since my young days have been making efforts to be a man even though I was young and dumb then but I had a belief that am gonna make something out of life, with the sole aim of securing a better future for myself, under the sun and in the rain I have been dying to live a good life even though am living to die eventually.

Make efforts to go to school in sad and happy mood, I sit in class learning things that I may never use in life, mathematics always give me migraine but I can’t leave the class even when am sick and tired of it, yeah have been dying to live a good life even though am living to die eventually.

I play football putting myself at risk, I could get injured or suffer a broken bone but my love for the game won’t allow me think about the hazard that may come my way, even when I don’t get injured I get kicked every time I touch the ball, of cause am dying to catch fun even though am living to die eventually.

Each day I wake up is a plus for my life, going to bed nobody promised me tomorrow but that does not stop me from sleeping every night, yes I know am dying to live even if am living to die.

Everything I do is a risk but those risk are part of what make up my existence on earth, each time I fall in love am putting my heart at risk, to perform not only its main duty but another duty at the same, I know am dying to live but not falling in love does not mean am not living to die.

When I put my money on a business, its a big risk for me, but every businessman is exposed to one risk or another. The business could bring profit or loss, if I make loss I might fall sick, but making profit does not mean I won’t fall sick. Am dying to live even if am living to die.

As a soccer coach I earn my living dishing out instructions on the sidelines, shouting every minute could give me high blood pressure but its what I signed up for, yeah am dying to live but eventually am living to die.

In everything I do in life, I stretch and stress myself, I sometimes go against all odds to achieve my aim, of cause am dying to live a good life but am also living to die someday but not soon.

Nothing In Life Is Free

Nothing in life is ever free, everything in life comes at a cost, whether it’s money or a life someone always pays, there is no such thing as free unless the thing in question is without value.

When I write a post, i give it away to the world on my blog, it is not free, I spent time, energy, effort, and knowledge writing it, time that could have been spent doing something else.

The only time something is truly free is when it has no value , when the person who creates something believes it to be of no inherent value that it’s only worth throwing away. Your excrement is not free, you pay people to take it away, Same for your garbage

Directly or otherwise we pay for everything we get, everything we do and everything we benefit on earth.

The cost of coming to the world was paid by our mother, the pains, sleepless nights and the labour pains are the cost she paid to bring us into the world, though not paid by us but coming into this world did come at a cost

There is no free thing anywhere in the world, staying alive comes at the cost, the cost being the air we breath, as long as we stay alive our cost is the air we breath but when we can’t afford to pay for the air anymore we seize to exist

There is no free food anywhere, even when it appears free for all some1 somewhere has paid for it knowingly or otherwise.

Faith in God is free but its not complete without his words, the words of God are contained in his holy books which aren’t free, the cost of purchasing a Bible or Quran is the main cost of whichever religion we chose.

Even Love aint free it comes at a cost, it might not be in monetary terms but there are times when you have to chose between going out with friends and going out with the one you love, when you chose to be with the one you love, your friends are the price you paid for being with your love.

In life, If something is offered as free, then the person that offered it must be extracting cost from the recipient in some other way or means

Generally, there is always a price to pay for something, maybe not in money, but something else even if it is only pride or self esteem.

Am Done Solving For x & y

Xa² + y +8 [(x + 2y a² = a-z] + 2x a³ + (- 2z = 2.4z) + 10y – 5Z a³= X – 9y…
Solve for x, y & z.

Am Done solving for x & y:
The rate of unemployment in Nigeria is growing at an alarming rate, yet every year higher institutions send thousands of graduates into the labour market, to search for jobs that are not available, while some
succeed in getting employment others aren’t so lucky and they become menace to the society because they couldn’t find a job and they were never taught how to create a job for themselves and others.
All through our academic lives we were only taught how to solve for x and determine y, to solve equations that are not applicable to real life situations instead of being taught how to solve for money, but when we leave school those that are lucky to be employed are never asked to solve for x or determine y, in most cases they have to go through another training entirely before they start working but those that aren’t so lucky to get employed find it difficult to create a source of livelihood for themselves because they were never taught how to solve for money and its affecting the society and the economy at large. Maybe the school curricula should be changed, maybe it should be adjusted to give room for lectures and courses on how to solve for money because right now am done solving for x and y, I need to solve for money but I was never taught how in all the years I spent in school.
